RO MORRISON – CPDT-KA – Founder/Trainer

Ro Morrison is a native Brit, who grew up constantly hearing "Dogs and Children need discipline". This simple phrase has been the foundation of her interaction with dogs for as long as she can remember. She learned at a very young age that a firm but gentle approach, with just the right mix of fun and the occasional treat, was the most effective way of communicating with dogs.

It wasn't until a wonderful Tibetan Terrier came into her life that Ro took steps to fulfill her desire to work with dogs professionally. After certifying as a Therapy Dog Team, she and Dori visited the terminally ill and the residents at a local nursing home. It was through this work that Ro was given the opportunity to take things further with the offer of a Dog Training Mentorship.

A year later, Ro was teaching Group Basic Classes solo and had started taking on private clients in her own neighborhood. Ro has built up a very fun and loving relationship with many of the local dogs as well as her clients. She takes her role of guiding you, your family and your dog very seriously.

Ever a champion for the animal community, Ro has worked for an international animal rights organization, directly involved with their education program and with rescues. She continues her education with regular professional seminars, industry publications and collaborating with other trainers.

DORI MORRISON - Co-Founder and Inspiration – 4/17/03-9/17/19

Born in Hungary in 2003, Dori was a full breed Tibetan Terrier. She joined Ro in Brooklyn at the age of 18-weeks and adjusted well to life stateside immediately. Dori’s wonderfully passive temperament and love of people led to her certification with the Good Dog Foundation as a therapy dog. She worked bringing comfort and smiles to the terminally ill doing home hospice visitation and made weekly visits to the residents of a local nursing home until her retirement in April of 2012. They honored her with a party, complete with a doggie cake and lots of toys.

At home, Dori was an integral part of the rehabilitation of our rescue, Tapey. Coming to us in the summer of 2013, Tapey was a traumatized, 5-year-old Tibetan Terrier, suffering from extreme anxiety and reactivity. Dori became his constant buddy and support while he adjusted to life with us and helped to teach him that the world isn’t quite the scary place, he thought it was.

Sadly, our beloved canine companions leave us too soon. Dori crossed the Rainbow Bridge in September 2019. She was 16½ years old. We are so very grateful to have been able to spend those years with her. Her generous spirit and sweet soul were a gift to us all. I was blessed to have her as my partner and friend.

Tapey went to join Dori in August of 2023. He was 15½ years old.
